Today I wanted to share with you a fun little project that I have been working on for awhile now. It is a cookbook that is probably more of a scrapbook. We all have those go to meals and treats that are family favorites, and that is what is going inside this book.
Last month my mom came over and we made Christmas goodies. I knew it would be the perfect opportunity to add a new recipe layout to my book. My Gramma's sugar cookie recipe is pretty famous at our house so that is the one I decided to document
Here is a look at my layout.
To be honest, this layout is a little more fancy than the other layouts in my book. Since this recipe is a Christmas goody, I think it's ok!
I also wish I had gotten a better picture. It's a little blurry, you can't see my Mom's face, and you can barely see my daughters face. It does however show a memory that will probably always make me smile.
I started out by matting my photo with some white cardstock. I then took a couple of patterned papers from my December kit to layer behind my photo.
The "No Peeking" stamp set included a stamp that said mmm.... cookies. I obviously had to find a spot to use it. I layered a couple of labels from the cut apart sheet to create a perfect spot for that stamp. I also layered a doily and a really cute glittery snow flake sticker behind the labels. I think it all looks so fun and festive.
To make everything feel balanced I also add some more of the doily at the top of my photo as well as a few more of those glittery snowflake stickers. I added a few elements from the cut apart sheet to the top of my photo, and then I called this layout done.

What a wonderful way to document the recipe and the precious time spent together!
What a fantastic idea! I have been thinking and dreaming about making a family cookbook with photos for awhile…just wasn’t sure how to go about doing it. This is a great idea!
This is wonderful! I’ve been wanting to do a family recipe for ages. I really need to do that for myself and the family.
It’s beautiful – I love that you have that moment and recipe recorded together
