Loaded Pocket Happy Mail | Nae Bowell

I love creating and sending happy mail to my beautiful crafty friends all around the world and it would seem happy mail goes through trends and styles just as much as scrapbooking does. The latest craze at the moment are these adorable loaded pockets, file pockets... To be honest I am not really sure what you call them, but they are another adaptation of the beautiful pocket letters.

They are basically a layering of three pieces of paper, taped together to create a tiered pocket with spaces to fill with pretty things and of course your lovely letters. To show you how its all done, I decided to create a Felicity Jane happy mail for one of my friends. This little letter is jam packed full of pretties from a variety of kits and collections. I have even included cut files and labels as well as a lovely washi and twine sampler.

For this project, it is all about the layers... The art is in creating interest and envy with all the things you can stuff into those pockets. You want to invite your happy mailer to explore the pockets. It is great to include a variety of different things to keep your happy mailer entertained and excited!!

I decorated the front of the pocket with a variety of alphabets and puffy stickers from the beautiful Emeline kit... I love how the bright yellow background paper just lights up the space and invites you in to check it all out.. The front of these loaded pockets is the only place you can really decorate and make it your own. I used the last of my 4 inch doilies from a past kit on the front of this pocket and I just love the sun like feel it brings to the pocket.

Don't be limited by your supplies either. Create some fun little bits and pieces from your stash to go into your pockets. Yes it is lovely to share product but making nice little decorations are also great to stuff into the pockets. For this pocket I created a cute pinwheel rosette using a silhouette store cut file but I also created a lovely little paper tassel using some of the papers from the collection. If you are wanting to know how to make these beautiful tassels, I have a tutorial up on my youtube channel that I would love for you to go and check out!

I hope you enjoyed this little happy mail project and if you want to watch the process of how I created this loaded pocket, don't forget to check out the process video above. I would love to see what you create with your loaded pockets. It is so much fun to play and create with paper on a different level to that of our layouts..

Thanks again lovelies,

Have a beautiful day xoxo

Dear Nae, this is AH-MAZ-ING!!! So how do you get involved in something like this? This is something I have been very interesting in doing, but I don’t know where to start. Do you swap with scrappy friends, or is there a site or channel that is best to start with? Again this is absolutely wonderful!!
