Meet The Creative Team

Time to meet two more ladies of the Felicity Jane creative team.

First up today is Suzanna Stein

Q | What is your least favorite household chore?
A | This is oddly specific, but I really hate cleaning the shower. This has been my least favorite chore since I was a kid and I still dread doing it to this day.

Q | What's your guilty pleasure?
A | I don't really have a guilty pleasure, but occasionally, I like to watch reality tv. Those terrible shows that are full of drama and you just know they can't actually be real - yeah, those. I don't get the urge to watch them often, but occasionally I do love to marathon a couple episodes while I craft.

Q | Favorite scrapbook/planner/crafty embellishment/product?
A | Oh goodness, how do I pick just one?? I would have to say my tab punch. I use tabs for embellishing, layering, as actual tabs (what a concept right? haha), and everything in between! I love that I can punch tabs out of anything with this tool and really get creative. Although, patterned paper is probably tied with the tab punch. I have way more paper than anyone needs to have and I can't stop buying more. When I see a pattern I love, I buy 4 or 5 sheets of it in case it sells out quickly.

Q | What do you Netflix/binge watch?
A | Netflix binge watch? Gossip Girl. I've seen the series 13 times through and have started on my 14th. The Harry Potter movies are my go-to thing to watch though. We have a Harry Potter movie marathon every weekend that we are home. As a super fan, I never get tired of it, but I know my boyfriend doesn't feel the same way. haha!

Q | What about you might surprise us?
A | I can't think of anything surprising, so I thought it would be fun to share a couple of fun facts about me. When I'm not creating, I'm a food & beverage blogger. I can't eat gluten or dairy, so I often make two meals - one for myself and one for my boyfriend. I'm definitely a cat lady (but I'm also a dog lady and any other type of animal lady). My favorite colors are lavender and grey. And I'll take veggies over sweets any day.

Q | What motivates you to create?
A | I've always been a creative person. I can't remember a time when I wasn't creating. It has really become a habit and something I do without thinking. My motivation to create comes from the happy feeling I get while doing it. I love the positive energy I feel when I'm making a scrapbook layout, doing some creative documenting, or any other form of creative work. I also love sharing my work and engaging with the creative community. The friends I have made and the support/positivity they show toward not only myself, but everyone else as well, is so inspiring. I love that when I'm not feeling super inspired, I'm learning a new technique and am not the best at it yet, or even when I've created something I don't love - the community is there to encourage me to keep trying, keep pushing, take my time when I need it, and really just make me feel like the best version of myself. I hope that I am able to even give a portion of that back to everyone else with both my work and my words.

Q | When/why did you start memory keeping?
A | I've always done a form of memory keeping. When I was younger I used to scrapbook and do creative documenting of anything and everything (normal days with family, vacations, etc.) I really started seriously memory keeping in the form of scrapbooking about a year ago when my autoimmune disease started getting worse. I was no longer able to go out to adventure after work every day and I couldn't take trips every weekend, so I had to do something else with my time. I noticed that memory keeping took my mind of everything else that I had going on and the disappointment of not being able to do certain things, and really helped me focus on the positives and my favorite memories as I was documenting them.

Q |  What project best shows off your style?

 Next up is Dannielle Wright

Q | What is your least favorite household chore?
A | Oh hands down it’s laundry! My hubby wears a shirt and tie to work everyday, and I some how convinced him that taking his dress shirts to the cleaners is absolutely worth the price. (it is surprisingly cheap!!) I just need to convince him that we need to take ALL the laundry to the cleaners… and have them deliver it… and put it away! Never going to happen! I am just happy that ironing dress shirts is no longer on my list of chores I have to do!!!

Q | What's your guilty pleasure?
A | walking the isles of an office supply store, taking a girly bath, drinking an ice cold diet pepsi first thing in the morning, putting on a brand new pair of white cotton socks, and watching any reality TV late at night after my little girl goes to bed…

Q | Favorite scrapbook/planner/crafty embellishment/product?
A | Pretty patterned paper has always always always had my heart. Tags are a very close second. Doilies, wood veneer, and simple stickers are my runner ups!

Q | What do you Netflix/binge watch?
A | I never ever get tired of an episode of The Golden Girls, or Murder She Wrote. I watch one of them almost every night before I go to bed. I just finished the Gilmore Girls series (because yes I am so excited about the new episodes!!) and I am working my way through The Office again. But seriously I think I watch way too much TV!!

Q | What about you might surprise us?
A | I got a full ride collage scholarship for playing the bass guitar in my school’s pep band. (My hubby says that makes me a band geek!!) But my real claim to fame is that I took private bass lessons from Santana’s bass player. oh and I can solve the Rubik’s Cube, which makes me feel super smart!

Q | What motivates you to create?
A | Definitely my daughter. Scrapbooking to me used to be just something I did for fun with the girls a couple times of month. Everything changed when I became a mama! For so many reasons, having a child made documenting our memories so much more important. I love that no matter what happens in this life, my little girl will never have to guess what this life means to me and how much I love my family, because all those words and photos are tucked away in our scrapbooks. It brings a lot of comfort to this anxious mama’s life!

Q | When/why did you start memory keeping?
A | My mom got me a Creative Memories start up kit (so to speak) for Christmas the year I got married. I instantly fell in love with this awesome hobby! When I first started scrapbooking, my hubby and I were still in college and on a newlyweds budget. I still remember going to the scrapbook store on payday with our $10.00 fun money budget, and buying all the things I needed to create a page or two. I would always buy a new color of zig pen, some specialty paper, a couple of sheet of patterned paper, and of course some stickers that fit the theme of my page. So many things have changed since then, but I still love this hobby of mine more than ever!

Q | What project best shows off your style?

Come back tomorrow for our final day of team spotlights!
