My Story Captured | Elsie Robinson

Happy Thursday folks! I'm super excited to be back on the blog to share this layout with you. I think it might be one of my all time personal favourites!

For my previous team post I was inspired by my love of Outer Space, but for this layout I thought I'd bring it down to Earth and be inspired by something a little closer to home: my desk!

I'm slowly, but surely, reorganising and redecorating my craft space, and one of my favourite parts of the room is all of the pots that hold my tools. 

I use a very random mix of old mugs, golden syrup tins and pretty pots I have collected over the years. They're all a bit mis-matched, but they're unique to me because they all have their own little story as to when and why I received them. 

I think it's important to document how and what we use to tell our stories, so for this layout I paper-pieced together some of my favourite tools, which are an essential part of how I capture and document my memories.

The stamp sets are incredibly versatile and a great way to embellish, but they're also a great way to integrate a title seamlessly into the design of your layout. I really treasure my stash of FJ stamps!

I really love stitching and using thread on my layouts. Creating my own spool of thread was inspired by the pom pom trim we received on that beautiful wooden spool, in the Felicity kit.

I decided to colour match the paint brushes with some embroidery thread and stitch some swirly lines coming out of the brushes, to give the effect of paint strokes. I think this makes the layout really fun and playful!

These kits really are so special; it's such a gift to play with some beautiful supplies and tell my stories. I hope that this layout really captures how fun it is to be a scrapbooker!
