November 2022 Sketch Challenge | Creative Team

Hi everyone!

Sheree here with our November Sketch Challenge!  This month I created a sketch that features a large photo.  It's fun to work with large photos for something a little different!  Let's take a look at this month's sketch...

November 2022 Sketch by Sheree Forcier for Felicity Jane

Here's what I came up with using the sketch as my guide...

Sketch Layout by Sheree Forcier for Felicity Jane

I decided to use the sketch to create a page for my December 2022 album. The layout measures 7” x 8.25” which is the outside measurement of a page protector as I will be adding the page directly onto the rings of the album.

I cut some pink grid paper to size for the background, then printed my large photo to 4.25” x 8.25” before adhering it down the right side of the page. I used a scallop edge punch to cut a scalloped strip from the Ivy Kit solid red paper, then cut a thin strip of gingham paper to go down the left side of the photo. I also added some machine stitching, then used the Bella Gold Foil Alphabet Stickers to add the title down the left side of the photo too.

My journaling was printed onto white cardstock and cut to approx. 2” x 3.5” and positioned at the bottom left of the page and I added a gold paper clip to the top. I fussy cut some florals from the Ivy Kit Floral paper to arrange at the top, then added a chipboard number and a gold foil chipboard star above.

To finish off I added a chipboard flair (with some of the backing removed to make it thinner), a chipboard word confetti strip and another gold foil chipboard star to the top section of the photo and one more gold foil chipboard star next to the “i” in the title. I will punch 6 holes either down the left or right side of the page when I know where the page will sit in the album and I’m so happy to have this page done!

As always our creative team have been busily creating beautiful things with the sketch behind the scenes and I'm always to excited to share them with you!  First let's hear from Elena Martinelli who has a gorgeous layout for us...

Another beautiful sketch that Sheree created for us!

I wanted to dedicate my layout to a very special moment in my life, I realized that I hadn't used a photo from my wedding for a project yet and thought this might be the perfect project!

I love the monthly challenges and Sheree's sketches always deserve a special photo!

I chose the 4"x4" and Margot Kit because it is a very romantic collection with delicate colors, it is perfect to be used for wedding photos!

I followed the sketch a lot even if I positioned the title horizontally so as to create an overlap between the journaling card and the large number in vellum. Finally I placed the chipboard sentiment on top to create three layers.

I decorated the photo with a small detail at the top right in order to give more general continuity and sewed the edge with white thread.

I hope my sketch like you!  See you to the next project.

Next we have Karlla Dauer with her adorable layout!

I love how sketches make me go beyond what I'm usually used to creating.  Using a big picture in this layout made my heart skip a beat!  I used Mollie's delicacy to compose this project.

Ulrike Dold has also created a project with the sketch.  Let's check out her gorgeous, summery layout!

Of course I had to make the wonderful big picture sketch from Sheree and I had so much fun. I am missing the summer and so I´ve decided to use a big vacation photo and the wonderful Annie collection from August.

First I´ve glued the picture on the right side of my 12x12 white essentials cardstock and then I wrote my big title. I used a quote that I love and the super sweet Puffy Confetti Alphabet and the Rebekah Puffy Alphabet in white. I wrote the word "travel" big and the other words with the colorful Confetti mini puffy alphabet. I fussy cut the sweet lemons from the Annie "Lemons & Stripes" paper and used the FJ essentials white cardstock and palm tree leaves metal dies to make some palm leaves with my die cutting machine.

Then I’ve decorated the picture on the right side at the top and on the middle of the picture on the bottom with the Annie Die Cuts, the palm tree leaves and the lemons. I love clustering the embellishments and I also used 3D dots here to add some dimension.

I wrote my journaling and printed it out. I´ve glued it on the turquoise Annie Journaling Card and added it with palm leaves, the "YAY" die cut and lemons on the right side beside my picture.

At the end I’ve decorated the layout with some tags and puffy heart stickers of the Millie collection. I also used the Shay Puffy Words and a Summer Chipboard Sticker with a plane. Then I’ve used some epoxy dots and enamel dots to finish off my page. I hope you like it and I could inspire you to use your Annie stash.

Our last lovely project today is from Valeska Guimaraes.  Let's hear how she used the sketch to create this wonderful spread...

Sketch Layout by Valeska Guimaraes for Felicity Jane

Hello FJ friends,

My version for this month's sketch challenge is coming in my Note to Self Travelers Notebook. The sketch proposed by Sheree is inspired by a great photograph, and I loved it! I was inspired by this idea and wanted a photo that would bring meaning to my project. I printed a photo of my daughter in the size of 4.5 x 8.2 inches and cut it leaving a part for the right page and most of it for the left page.

I chose the papers, die cut shapes and chipboard bits from the beautiful Aspen collection. I made a border on the outside of the right page with the fringe cardstock from the same collection. I used the Ginny Puffy Alphabet to put my title on vertically with some die cut shapes.

On the left page, I cut out a piece of striped paper, fussy cut flowers from the floral paper and decorated it leaving space for my Aspen journaling card. I finished with the mustard miniwide clip on it!

Hope you enjoyed this inspiration!
