"Like a Kangaroo" Layout | Carol Chastain
Happy Friday Y'all! Today I am sharing with you some tips and tricks that helped me to put together this layout. I absolutely love this geometric print -and as wild as it may seem to use for a background piece (vs. just layering with it)- I was able to pull it off by using an enlarged photo- Specifically one that didn't have too many colors and one of the colors (the blue), was among the least used colors in the background paper I chose.
Another thing I did was used the stamp set on this embellishment from the sticker sheet. It is a way to add a personalized touch and you maximize space on the layout by doing this (vs. finding another spot to stamp as well as using the embellishment).
And lastly, I would recommend that when you are using such a bold print like I did, that you balance it/ tone it down by adding some softer touches. In this case, I used a whole lot of florals and that darling swan.
I had so much fun creating this layout full of color and patterns- and most importantly I am glad I got this story told. It's safe to say that the Tuesday kit is my absolute favorite - Jeana really knocked it out of the park with the designs this month....Can't wait to see how y'all are using them.

I absolutely love this layout. I was stumped at how to use the background paper and the way you used it is perfect!
