Hey Y'all, hope you are having a great week and celebrating the fact that the weekend is almost here! (happy dance). This layout was a super quick and a fun one that came with a few challenges. It's from our wedding anniversary date night this past August, and we didn't get any good photos of the actual food (unless you count the leftover celery) or any photos of us. All I got was this. Smeared sauce from hot wings. I wanted to capture the little screen on the table that we paid for our food on! 10 years ago when we went on our very first date at this same chain restaurant we gave our money to the waitress. It's so interesting( and strange) how times change and that got me thinking about what I wanted to document. That's how this layout was born- Things that are Awesome, Different, and The Same. I used the OH-SO-CUTE! exclusive letter stickers to just spell out the "THINGS THAT ARE" and then I used the little journaling lines stamp with some grey ink as landing spots for my journaling.
Now for the "challenges"... the first one was finding a way to make the photo seem a little more appetizing than it actually was. I took a cue from the tiled tabletop and went with the cactus stickers for fun and pretty embellishing. I also got a little creative with the cactus at the top (by the photo) because it originally had a pink and gold pot but I just cut that off and used part of the red with gold heart strip to create a color coordinated pot. I especially love that it has a heart on it since the story is about date night!
The other little challenge that I had was that I used some leftover gold washi from the little booklet in last month's kit and it rolled up on itself and created what I like to call a "distressed look" . Ha! - sometimes you just have to roll with whatever in the creative process (pun intended).
I finished off my layout with a bit of gold splatters and stitching around the edge. Really glad I got this little story told. Hope y'all are having fun with your Chloe Kits this month!!!
