Off the Page | Mission Board | Julie Kinneeveauk

Stretching the Felicity Jane kit off the typical 12x12 scrapbook page is one of my favorite things to do.  I love using bits and pieces to customize my planner, and this month I used the Chloe kit for my May Mission Board.

A #missionboard is a spot inside your planner where you can take a moment to reflect on your goals and aspirations for your month.  I'd first seen the idea in an Inkwell Press planner, and decided I'd create my own version each month.  By making my own, I'm able to take bits and pieces of my Felicity Jane kit and modify my own personal mission board to suit my needs each month.  The "On Trend 2" sticker sheet paired with the white Felicity Jane stickers got me off to a great start.  I chose a simple polka dot background because, well, polka dots are my fave.

I knew this month was going to be a simple design because I'm focusing my efforts in one main direction this month, so I didn't have a lot of items to list out.  Knowing my list would be brief, I looked to the My Mind's Eye sticker sheet for some ways to embellish without distracting.  These little pennant-shaped stickers, once cut in half, were the perfect "hole reinforcers".

The month of May seems to share the same focus for me each year.  A long winter of 'cozy living' (aka comfort food, haha) catches up with me each spring and I'm ready to tackle some healthier meals and habits. This year is no different, and when i jump on the healthier wagon, it truly takes over my mind. So, no sense in pretending that other areas of my life will get attention, haha.  I'm rolling with that focus and going to concentrate it all in the healthy direction this month.  I chose the 3 areas I can stand to improve on and jotted them down on the Chloe cut-apart label stickers.  I added the little arrow stickers from the On Trend 2 sticker sheet, and stamped the words using my Kelly Purkey outline alphabet.

This cutie pie cactus caught my eye and I may or may not have slapped it down in the corner before I considered how I'd arrange everything.  So, I decided to layer the labels like stair steps to work around it.  I just loved the little bloom popping out, reminding me that a fresh start can occur every year (every morning really).

Here's a quick shot of all the supplies I used to create this simple mission board.  The Felicity Jane kit contents were perfect for helping me accomplish this, and I can't help but think how this activity helps me plan out my goals for the month, but also serves as an awesome record of what I was up to when I look back in the months to come. Hey!  There's potential crossover into a scrapbook album, I think.  If planning isn't your thing, don't hesitate to use a page like this to set goals within your scrapbook album or to create a monthly wrap-up of what consumed your time/thoughts for a particular month.  Photos optional.  :)
