6x8 Baby Album: Little Reader | Sarah Zayas
Happy New Year, Everyone!
I don't know about you, friends, but the new year always gets me thinking about what projects worked and didn't work in the previous year, and what projects I'd like to work on in the new year. One project that I've been meaning to start for awhile and now finally feel ready to do so is an album to document my daughter's first year. Since she was born last March, I've printed photos like crazy and documented a lot of her milestones through TNs and in my Project Life. However, I've always envisioned having a small pocket page album to bring everything together.
The first entry in my album will end up in the 10 month section of my daughter's baby album, but given my love of reading it felt very fitting to make my first entry all about her growing love of books.
For these pages I used the gorgeous Jill collection. I started by printing out 6 small square photos and then laid them out in a loose grid structure. I layered some pattern paper and stamping behind my photos, and used some of the die cut shapes to layer around my page. For my journaling insert I printed out my words onto regular printer paper and then adhered it on top of this gorgeous floral vellum. I used some of the simple alphas from the Jill kit to spell out my title along the edge of my journaling.
My photo pages, sized 4.25 x 8.25, will sit in page protectors, while my journaling insert will be added directly into the album, without a page protector.
If you'd like to see how these pages came together you can check out the process video below.
It's never too late to start working on a project that you've had on your mind. :) I always find that the hardest part is just starting!
Happy Crafting,
Sarah
