I am typically the LAST person to attempt a home decor project, but when I saw this frame at Michael's, I immediately knew what to do with it. My daughter just wrapped up her first season of HS Varsity Volleyball, and I wanted to surprise her with a little tribute to hang in her room. Knowing I could rely on my Felicity Jane for some great black-and-white patterns, coupled with some gold accents, I had everything I needed on hand to complete this SUPER SIMPLE project.
I quickly printed out these photos in black and white, and added a simple little gold sticker "HIGH FIVE" from November's Savannah kit to the team photo.
I hadn't used up all of my gold glitter alphas from October's kit, so I had to snag some of those because her school's colors are black and gold. Hello... :) The bold gold stickers look great on the simple black-and-white patterns from November's kit.
I trimmed down a sheet of this yellow patterned paper because it matched and I knew the pattern was subtle enough to write on. I simply stamped the little "Remember" tab at the top and hand-wrote some highlights from the season.
We just had the awards banquet last night, so her Varsity Letter was all set to hang, and you'll see a little bracelet on the top right that her coach made for each of the girls. I like that I was able to include some photos alongside these tangible items. I'm excited to see her response when she walks into her room after school today. :) I hope it serves as a memory-sparker for her, as well as an encouragement to keep working and prepare for next year!
Of course, I had to share a quick photo with a fellow mama on the team and she wants to make one, too! The best part? It's super simple and just about ANYONE can do this! Thanks, Felicity Jane, for making such versatile products!
