Hello everyone, it’s Lindsey! I don't know about you but I’m loving the fun, birthday themed Jenny Collection this month but I wanted to challenge myself to create a layout that is a little more neutral and masculine as I document some photos from our recent camping trip. We were supposed to be camping for 4 days but only made it 12 hours before the bear so I didn’t have many pictures to document. Since this layout is more about the story than the photos, I decided to keep them fairly small and play with a paper backed cut file as the main focal point for the layout.
I found a geometric bear file and cut it out of some Essentials White Cardstock and then cut the backing pieces out of a large variety of black and white patterned papers from the Jenny Kit as well as past collections.
Behind the bear, I smooshed some neutral colored inks and layered some torn pieces of the blue watercolor paper from this month’s kit. I wanted to keep it fairly simple since the bear was pretty busy with all of the different patterns.
At the top of the layout, I added some black stitching to create a string of stars. The stars were a Felicity Jane cut file that I cut out of a few different yellow patterned papers from Felicity Jane. I also stamped a sentiment from the Jenny | Stamp Set to bring in a little more pink to the layout.
I used the Jenny and Jaimee alpha stickers to create a small title and typed out the story of our bear encounter to add to the bottom of the layout.
I love how this layout came out and it’s a good reminder that scrapbooking isn’t always about documenting perfect photos...sometimes it’s just about documenting the stories in a creative way.
