Hello everyone, it’s Lindsey! Today I’m using products from the Megan Kit to create am 8.5x11 scrapbook page to document a couple of photos of my boys when they were about 6 months old. Check out the process video at the end to see how this layout came together!
I really loved many of the patterned papers in the collection this month so I decided to use several of the 6x6 papers to create a ray pattern on the top third of my 8.5x11 layout. I lightly stuck down the papers with adhesive and then added stitching detail along the edges to add some texture and to break up the patterns a little bit.
Since there were so many colors on this layout, I printed the photos in black and white so that they would stand out against the background. I also popped the photos up on foam adhesive to help them stand out even more.
For the title, “sweet smile”, I used some of the script puffy alphas and one of the vellum pieces from the Megan Kit. I also added some of the vellum butterflies as embellishments. To create a more 3-D look, I only put adhesive on the centers of the butterflies and then fluffed up their wings.
In the bottom corner, I layered a couple of labels and then added the date using some tile puffy alphas and a die cut phrase from the Sarah Collection.
To finish up the layout I added some black paint splatters (which went a little overboard but I’m committed now LOL) and called it good! I love how simple this layout is while still be interesting with the layered background.
