Merry Christmas! Today I am sharing with you how I include all of the extra "stuff" that comes with life during the holiday season. While I cannot save every last drawing that my kiddos create, I do like to keep a few of them. Right now my oldest is into putting "sunshines" on his pages and this greeen one was a keeper. I added some little word stickers that say "remember" and "gifts" as well as that wooden house piece, going with the "home" theme. Next to it, I folded over a piece of paper, added some washi tape and mini staples to close, punched holes and voila! a quick pocket to slide other little drawings into.
I love working with a binder style album, since it makes it so easy to add in extra pieces as the month goes on. I trimmed down another one of his drawings and backed it with a piece of patterned paper and then added some lovely yarn for trimming using my tiny stapler.
I love including things like candy packaging and pictures of treats that we are making this time of year. I used a bit of the gray cardstock to back the gummy packaging and added some of the sparkly gold enamel dots across the photo to mimic the popcorn.
Another "everyday" kind of touch I added was making a list of things my sister and I did while she was visiting. I used the little labels as holding places for my stories and offset the number stamps to add purpose amid the random. I also used the little line stamp to keep the labels grounded and not look like they were floating around on the page. I have a feeling these number stamps will get used all year round. I stamped "Merry Memories" at the top and I really love how all of the stamps are designed to mix and match, layer and stagger. Hope y'all are having a blessed holiday season and having fun with your December kits!
