Hey friends, I hope y'all are having a wonderful holiday season! Today I am sharing a snow filled layout with a bit of stamping fun. I decided that with all this snow (at least where I live), I would warm things up with a little embossing. I took the stringed lights/garland like stamp from the "No Peeking" stamp set-(which is still available in the shop), and stamped with some clear embossing ink across the bottom third of my page.
The embossing powder that I used is white when dry, but once it gets heated it turns into this lovely iridescent sparkle. My sole purpose in doing this was to add a bit of texture that would peek out from under my banner.
It was truly a difficult task to try and capture the finished look with the lens of my camera- I don't think it does it justice here. But I wanted to share my technique for building a banner on top of these because I found it added just the right element of texture. I hope you'll give it a try too!
For the banner itself, I wanted to mix sizes and shapes, patterns and colors. I used that wooden number "3" and the wooden piece that says "five" ( attached at the far right of the banner)- to represent the ages of my boys, since the journaling is about them. Here's what I wrote: "There's a little hill behind our backyard that provides the best little spot to go sledding and not go too far from home. Simon your face expresses pure joy!"
For the top part of the photo I added a word sticker and some washi tape, as well as a diagonal staggering of snowflakes. I finished it off by adding more detail with the enamel dots.
Here's another look at the finished layout:
I look forward to seeing all of the projects you make with your kits and hope y'all have a Happy New Year!!!

I am new to even the knowledge of felicity jane, and am looking for ideas on Pinterest. This just really stands out to me. I love banners and this is a gorgeous treatment. I really love the snowflakes, as well! Great page!
