I am going to start out this blog post with a bit of honesty... I am not a card maker!! But when I saw the fun stitching template that came in this months "Something Sweet" kit, I knew that I could help my daughter make some cute little cards to send to her pen pals.
As you can see they are simple, and to the point, but oh so cute! The best part is my daughter had so much fun helping me make them.
Our first step was to get our hearts made. I used the stitching template to poke out the hearts on some pieces of white cardstock, then I helped my daughter sew them. It took those tiny, little hands a long time to stitch those hearts, but it was so fun to just sit and watch her learn.
To make sure our heart pieces didn't look wonky once we taped them down on our cards, we used some foam adhesive to give room for our bulky thread.
We then layered our hearts on top of some pink cardstock that came in the kit.
I asked London which of the patterned papers we should use as a background for our cards. I was not surprised when she picked this super cute polka dot pattern. It is one of my favorites from the kit too!
The last thing we had to do was glue our card fronts onto some card bases.
I absolutely love how these turned out, and I know London's little twin cousins will love getting these in the mail.
