A NEW YEAR LIST | Nancy Damiano

It's the beginning of a brand new year and my first list of 2018! My Note to Self book is filling up with some of favorite photos, memories and goals. This one is all about 2018 and what our family's goals, dreams, travel plans and hopes are. What better way to start the year. It will be interesting to see how much we accomplished a year from now.

On the left, we have the silly family photo that makes me smile and is just so us. I used a bold stripe and smaller dot pattern to cover the page. The photo is popped up on a bed of patterned paper layers and a transparency die cut right in the center. I wrapped some twine and hung two tassels from a previous kit to give the page a bit of party flair. The title at the bottom was created with two different fonts chipboard alphas in aqua layers on a label and heart die cut. Some stamping was added just below to give the area a touch of movement.

I'm working with the Note to Self dot grid pages and I love how they give the background a subtle pop of design. There also serve as a guide for lining things up just so.  The bold "18" chipboard numbers are balanced out by the smaller "20". That contrast makes it interesting and readable - not to mention space saving. A few lines of stamped text add a pop of color to all of the journaling.

I started by listing out what each of our family members want to accomplish in 2018. Most of our center around health, fitness and a new musical instrument. We like to travel so I also listed out all the places we are going to visit in the next year. We aren't big into resolutions, but goals we can do!

Home projects, reading lists, academic achievements, new skills or hobbies can all be goals.Dig into your Note to Self book of lists and dream away!
