Hi friends! Mandy here with you today to share my first project using the super lovely 'Willow' kit! I love that this kit has a bit of an 'adventure/outdoors' theme running through it, and I thought that it would be perfect for creating a spread in my traveler's notebook!
I'm using this Felicity Jane TN insert to document photos from our cruise that we went on last year. I took this photo just before we sailed out of Sydney Harbour, and the view of the sun setting behind the Opera House was simply amazing!
The yellows and corals in the 'Willow' kit were absolutely perfect for this page!
I really like the multicolored geometric pattern paper in the kit, and decided to cut out the two smallest triangles from the paper and use them as a design element on the left hand side of my spread. The colours were perfect, and I love how the triangles really help to direct the viewer's eye towards the photo. It also acts as a base for my title. I couldn't go past the 'adventure' die cut piece as the title for this page.
I added my journaling at the bottom of the page, and adhered the little banner die cut that says 'beautiful' underneath my journaling. I finished the left hand side of the spread off with a few of the cute triangle puffy stickers.
I covered about two thirds of the right hand page with the grey and white patterned paper. I originally intended to use the yellow scallop pattern on the reverse side, but when I flipped it over, I just really loved how this grey pattern really seemed to ground the page. I did add a thin strip of the yellow paper, as well as one of the border strips, along the edge of the grey patterned paper. I like the extra detail that this adds. I matted my photo with the coral solid color paper, and then tucked a tag from the die cut shapes pack underneath. Lastly I added the little puffy sticker that says 'sunshine' on the bottom of my photo.
