"Around Here" Layout | Anne Keller

Hey everyone, Anne here today.

Wow, I'm blown away by this beautiful kit this month. The colors, all the pretty embellishments and I especially love the metal die set. Since I got the kit I finished 3 layouts and start a fourth. I'm full of ideas and inspiration and hope to have some time the next days to create more.

Okay, let's start with my first page. For us January was full of illness. We stayed more than half of the month at home for various reasons - fever, bronchitis, stomach flu and even a broken arm...

So this is a snapshot of my daughters reading a book together. Even though the days weren't easy, there were still moments I want to remember. Sitting together, cuddling, drinking tea and talking, reading so many books, watching films. Because these were the times where love was in the air…

I started the page with a ripped piece of the ledger paper. In my mind I had the picture of a quick, unperfect memo. Just to save a lovely moment in all the sickness and document it. I chose 'love love, love' as one of my titles and diecut it from some patterend paper and a white cardstock. I embossed a little vellum bag (I explained how to make them in my last blog post) and put one of the tags in it. My jounaling is on the back. Some more decoration with one of the foam stickes, an epoxy heart and another die cut and this cluster is finished.

My second title is 'around here', because this was my first thought when I saw the picture. I wrote it down with the puffy alphabet from the Jill kit. Then I ruffled the edges of the ledger paper and fold a little part of the paper, so the backside could peek through. I added some black splatters and the black circle die cut under my title. Just staple it on the background. Quick and easy.

I layered some patterned paper, some of the tissue paper the kit came in (I love the scalloped border) and a doilie behind my photo. I clipped it on the top of my page and put another love die cut on it. After that I just added some of the adorable confetti hearts and a quick stamping. And it's finished. I'm so happy that I was able to document a heartwarming moment in a month full of struggles and sickness. And I'm pleased that the page looks like the page I had in my mind and the whole process gave me some rest and time to calm down.

How do you document challenging times? Maybe you're inspired to have a closer look during difficult times to find some seconds of beauty and love. Then don't hesitate to photograph and/or document them. I'd love to see your projects.
