Hello FJ Friends!
It's time for a new sketch challenge here on the FJ blog! I always find sketches are the perfect way to kick start your creativity, especially if you're not feeling so creative. I find them such a great jumping off point and you can really make it your own to suit your style...so fun!
This month our sketch has been designed by creative team member Anna Blades and it's so pretty!
Those florals are so perfectly suited to any Felicity Jane Kit! Of course you can change it up to use whatever you like around the photo such as stars or hearts, or whatever suits the theme of your project.
Let's take a look at Anna's beautiful layout and hear what she has to say about her design.
Hi FJ friends!
Anna here with you today with the August sketch! I'm so excited because this is my first time creating the sketch for the challenge. I wanted a simple composition, so you can easily make your interpretation.
These gorgeous flowers are made to be fussy cut, so I didn't think twice. I love how they look around my little Abril's picture. I also add the word beautiful above the photo with the Amanda puffy alphabet. I could use it in every layout!
One of the most striking elements of this month's kit is this die cut alphabet, with 3 inch thin letters. Amazing. I created the word YOU and placed it in the lower right corner with some embellishments.
On the upper left corner, I also made a little cluster, using a tag and a label from the die cut shapes. On top of the label, I stacked a "Hello" from the puffy stickers, so all words together make the title: "Hello beautiful you".
I can't wait to see your takes on this sketch and read what do you think about it! Have fun!

Team member Jana has also created a gorgeous layout putting her own spin on her interpretation of the sketch...
What a sweet sketch Anna prepared for us! And the lovely florals! Wow! As soon as I saw the sketch I was happy to copy it as it is and fussy cut all those beauties. But I couldn´t find the best photo for it so I went for a slightly different option. I really love the colourful pattern paper and decided to cut out the circles to create a background for my photos. The pictures are from a playground so the circles create a nice playful atmosphere. As for the title, at first I was going to add it to the right page of the notebook spread but then it felt a bit too empty. So I tried to place the letters under the photo and they fit! Yay! I am really excited to see what my team mates create with this wonderful sketch. If they go for the florals or use something else. And also, will you try this sketch?

Next up we have team member Tina to share the lovely project she created with the sketch...
Hello everyone, it's Tina! And here's my take on this month's beautiful sketch. It was really easy and fun to play with! At first I was going to fussy cut and use those beautiful roses from the Tori floral paper. But the photos I wanted to use for this layout have a lot of cold blue and green tones, so I decided to cut some flowers out of white cardstock using my cutting machine. For the background I chose a plain light blue paper from the kit, trimmed it to 11.25" x 11.25", adhered it onto the dark green with white dots pattern paper and finished it with some stitching around the edge. After that I backed three 2" x 4" photos with a lovely striped pattern paper. For the title I used gorgeous jumbo alphas and cute puffy alpha stickers from the Tori kit. In the end I simply added a few die cut shapes and epoxy dots here and there. And my layout was finished!
I hope you'll be inspired by Anna's lovely sketch as much as I did and will share your creations on Instagram using hashtag #fjsketchchallenge or on the Felicity Jane Facebook group!

Team member Lydia has also used the sketch to make these wonderful pages in her art journal...
I decided I wanted to do something a little different with this month’s sketch. It’s gorgeousness and simplicity lent itself perfectly for a template for one of my art journal pages. I couldn’t wait to pull out my paints, and fussy-cut those gorgeous florals in the Tori collection to arrange around my spread, just like the sketch. I pulled out my glitter waters, India inks, and spray paint; I got to work laying out the foundations of my art journal background. This really is the best part about creating art journal spreads. Next I layered on some modeling paste. I then arranged my fussy-cut florals around the page in the areas that the sketch alluded to. They nestled in so perfectly with the matched color scheme of the mixed media. I adhered them down with some PVA glue, and then I chose some of the Jumbo Die-Cut Alphas to create my title. I love the way the “NEW” nestles in perfectly in that corner, just like the sketch. All that was left was to finish with my journaling and a few black paint splatters to tie everything in.

I also couldn't resist putting a layout together with this sketch! Here's what I came up with...
I adore the florals in the Tori Kit and I was determined to use them on this spread! I found this older photo of this special moment between my daughter and her Nanna which I thought would be perfect. I centred the photo on the page instead of having it positioned to the left like the sketch. I brought the title to the centre as well and decided to have the layered strips of paper across the entire width of the bottom of the page. I limited the fussy cut florals to either side of the photo as I did't have much room between the photo and the title so didn't want it to look crowded with more flowers. Instead of the tag at the top left of the page I created a hidden journaling tag to tuck in behind the photo. I added the label with a puffy sticker, some stamps and a tiny tag for the date to finish it off.
