I am so thrilled to be here, sharing my first layout on the Felicity Jane blog! I'm absolutely loving creating with the August Maggie kit! The colours in this kit are simply gorgeous! They remind of the colours of Fall (or Autumn as we call it here in Australia) and so I knew I had to scrap this photo of my daughter playing amongst the Autumn leaves in our backyard years ago. The lovely warm colours of the leaves, as well as the aqua colour in my daughter's clothes, matched perfectly with the kit!
I started my layout off by adhering a piece of the super pretty heart patterned paper down the left hand side of my layout. I then added a thin strip of the coral stripe patterned paper, as well as the scalloped vellum pieces. I love the subtle detail that the vellum adds.
I downloaded the Felicity Jane Leaf Silhouettes cut file from the Silhouette Design Store, and cut a leaf from one of the coloured papers in the kit. I added it to the top left hand corner of my photo and then popped one of the lovely flair buttons on top. I also tucked the tag from the cut apart sheet under the left hand side of my photo.
I'm loving the stamp set in this kit! I don't often include stamping on my layouts, but this stamp set has inspired me to start stamping again! I stamped the word 'Hello' onto one of the tabs from the cut apart sheet and tucked it under the top left hand edge of the patterned paper.
For my title I used another Felicity Jane cut file from the Silhouette Design Store. This one is called Autumn Script, and it was just perfect for this layout! I cut it from one of the coloured papers and added some foam tape underneath to give it some extra dimension. By the way, how cute is that little birdie on the cut apart sheet?!! I think it looks really sweet sitting on top of my title!
I finished my layout off by adding a few of the hearts from the cut apart sheet, which coordinated perfectly with the patterned paper! I popped some foam tape underneath these as well... Can you tell that I love dimension on my layouts?
I hope that you're enjoying creating with the Maggie kit as much as I am! There's just so much to love about this kit!
