Back to School Bookmarks | Desiree Lamar

Hey friends! I am super excited to be sharing this project with you today. Since my daughter started second grade this week, I got the idea to make bookmarks. I thought the reds, blues, and patterns from the Ginny collection were great for this idea

I started this project by choosing my patterned papers and cutting them down to 2.45 x 6 inches. The Ginny 6 x 6 Paper Pack works well because they are already 6 inches. Next, I used my round corner punch to give the bookmarks round edges.

Once I cut the papers down I used all of the goodies from the Ginny collection to make fun designs on the bookmarks. For my floral patterned bookmark, I got the idea to use a label I fussy cut from the label patterned paper to make the bookmark look like a simple composition notebook. Then I used the white puffy alphas to spell out the word “Math” on the label. For my pink bookmark, I used a strip of the Ginny Daisy Washi Tape around the center and added a matching floral die cut. I added the words “Page Turner” with the puffy white alphas.

I used a red fussy cut label for the stripe bookmark stamped “Yay” from the Ginny Stamp Set onto this label. Then, I applied some of the Ginny Layered Vellum stars to this bookmark. For my last green bookmark, I used more of the Ginny stamps and had a little fun stamping the patterns on the bookmark. I added more vellum stars and the “chapter 7” die cut.

Last, I made this simple envelope bookmark holder by folding over and gluing together the edges of the multi-color grid patterned paper, leaving the bottom pattern from the branding strip showing. The Millie puffy alphas were a great color match to the Ginny collection. Using those alphas and a Ginny die cut, I spelled out “reading is fun” on the envelope. Then I popped on a few epoxy heart stickers.

I hope you enjoyed this project. These bookmarks were so fun and easy to make. What I like the most is that the bookmarks can be personalized any way you like.

Xo, Desiree
