Beautiful Day Layout | Sheree Forcier

Today I have a layout to share with you featuring easy DIY layered flowers using papers and embellishments from a variety of FJ kits.

To make the layered flowers I used papers from the Brooke, Henley and Alexis kits along with some vellum from my stash then cut them into a mix of four different sized flowers with punches and dies. I used my thumbnail to rough up each flower and make the petals curl up a little so that when I layered the flowers together they create a lovely textured, dimensional embellishment. Messy stitching was added to the center of each flower with a sewing machine and I left the threads nice and long.

After backing the white cardstock background with patterned paper, I added stitching down the sides then arranged the flowers from the center bottom of the page up. The long threads were wound around and in between the flowers to create lots of lovely texture.

I cut a tag from some solid colour paper using a white Heidi tag as a template, punched a hole at the top, added some twine then stitched around the edge. The tag was positioned above the flowers, then I tore some patterned paper to go under the photo.

The title was printed from the Brie Digital kit. I simply cut it out with scissors and adhered the words to the top of the photo using foam squares. The journaling strips were stitched into place and the black and white bow (also from the Brie Digital Kit) was adhered with foam squares to the top of the tag.

To finish the page I added some puffy hearts and a little white tag from my stash with the date.

You can watch my process in the video below:

I hope I’ve inspired you to get creative with your punches and dies to make your own flowers for your next layout! They really are such an easy way to add texture and dimension to your project!

Thanks for stopping by the inspiration page today!  Happy scrapping!
