Beautiful Day Scrapbook Layout | Suzanna Stein

Hey there, friends! Today I’m sharing a scrapbook layout inspired by a photo of flowers I took while on a drive one day last month. Purple is my favorite color, but one I don’t use often in my scrapbook pages. With this project, I was excited to draw inspiration from the purple flowers, and bring the color into my layout!

I started out by adding a base color that was the same shade of purple as the flowers in the photo, using craft paint. I was so happy that the floral patterned paper I chose to use to back my photos had the tiniest bit of purple in it, and the shades of pink were more on the purple side.

After backing my photos, I added them on top of the craft paint, both at an angle to add visual interest.

Using a mixture of chipboard alphas, puffy stickers, and die cut pieces, I created my long title across the top and bottom of the photos. I like that the title tells a piece of the story that the photos don’t - then I was able to elaborate on the meaning of the title in the journaling.

Once the title was in place, I did a bit of journaling and added the date using my roller date stamp.

To finish off the layout, I created embellishment clusters around the photos and journaling, along with added splatters of gold craft mist and a doodled border to tie everything together.

This layout didn’t take too long to create, and I love the way it turned out. Not only do I love the colors, but the mixture of pieces used to create the title and clusters makes each piece of the project really pop!

I hope this gave you inspiration for your next layout, and how you can tie in colors from your photos!

Gorgeous layout! What did you use to apply the craft paint to achieve that look? It doesn’t look like a brush stroke.
