This week on the blog, Felicity Jane is collaborating with Tombow. Each day you will be able to see how Tombow helps the creative team use their "Felicity" kit to create a few projects that are sure to inspire.
Suse is starting us off with this super sweet layout about her beautiful daughter.
Hey, lovely friends! Suse with you today and I fancied sharing my process for making this layout about my daughter Kitty, only this time with photos of each stage.
Here's a shot of my desk as I started work... I tried really hard to keep my mixed media work looking fresh and as if I'd done it with a very light touch. I'm great at adding too much or making things muddy!
So: the modelling paste came first, popped through this gorgeous polka dot stencil that came in an earlier kit (it's my very favourite stencil!)
I then cut a strip of striped paper for my border. Now, you won't believe this, but I've never used a tape runner before, so using this Tombow one was quite the eye-opener for me... there's no peeling of backing strips, people! Wow.
Next came some stitches and a good splattering of the gold Heidi Swapp Colour Shine we got in a previous kit. I can't get enough of that stuff!
Next, I stitched around the pretty heart journalling card (you knew I wouldn't be able to resist that spotty background, didn't you?) and a few more stitches into some of the beautiful white trim to make a sweet tab for my paperclip.
Then I tested out the Tombow glue on my acyclic embellishment - it worked like a charm and with it's delicate nozzle was perfect for getting the glue to go exactly where I wanted it to go. It was also fab for sticking down my cut-apart flower.
The final stage was my journalling, which I did with three different shades of grey Tombow pens: I used the lightest to draw my guidelines, then two slightly darker shades for my words, picking out the most important ones in the darkest shade. I love how it looks!
I'm so happy with this page - it's zingy and fresh and really captures the fun and energetic spirit of my daughter at this age.
Thanks so much for joining me today! I hope you're having as much fun playing with this delicious kit as I am. Be sure to hop over to the Tombow blog for even more inspiration!

It’s absolutely beautiful, Suse!! Love all the colours and how there are so many details and layers to this page and it still fills light and fresh <3
I definitely finally need to start using my structure paste and stencils on my layouts and not only in art journaling.
