Bible Journaling Mix & Match | Lindsey Lanning
Hello everyone, it’s Lindsey! We are slowly recovering from a chaotic few weeks in the Lanning household and I wanted to do some prayer journaling in response to it all. I had a lot of fun curating the Mix & Match Kit No. 2 and wanted to use it, with some more mixing and matching, for this Bible journaling entry. You can find the process video for this project at the end of this post.
I started out by stamping some background florals using the Lindsey, Jenny, and Rebekah stamp sets. I temporarily placed my fussy cut florals to use as a guide for where I wanted to add in the stamped florals.
I love the versatility that you get with floral patterned papers like the Jenny one in the Mix & Match Kit No. 2. To add some dimension, I placed the flowers onto a squishy surface (like a mouse pad or felt) and then ran over the petals with an embossing stylus to add grooves to the petals and shape to the flower. I also used the Sarah Dies to cut some leaves from one of the solid papers in the kit.
Here you can see how I created two clusters with the fussy cut and stamped florals. I did add in a darker stamped center to some of the florals to further dress them up so they didn’t just look like cut out paper flowers. I also went in and added in some additional stamped details to fill out the clusters.
I added some gold and black splatters to the page and then began working on the finishing details. I created a title using a mix of gold and pink alphas. I like to mix and match different colors, textures, sizes, and fonts, when creating a title on a project. This helps to break up the words a little so it doesn’t just look like a block of letters on top of whatever I’m working on.
One of the reasons that I chose the Jill Die Cut Shapes for my Mix & Match Kit was the positive words of encouragement on some of the labels. I added a few of these labels popped up on foam adhesive to help tie in with the theme of my prayer journaling. I also added some epoxy stickers to the center of some of the florals to dress them up even more and bring in some more texture to this page.
I always like to add the date to my Bible journaling entries...sometimes I just stamp it onto the page but, for this entry, I decided to create a little label cluster for the date.
This page was finished off with a tulle bow clip (I just threaded one of the Hannah Tulle Bows onto a gold paperclip) and some prayer journaling.
So head on over to the Felicity Jane shop and grab one of the Mix & Match Kits or take advantage of the current sale and create your own mix and match kit! I hope that this project inspires you to create your own kit out of Felicity Jane products and maybe use some of those beautiful floral papers in a different way.

Until next time!
