BIRTHDAY CARDS | JANA BENNETT

BIRTHDAY CARDS | JANA BENNETT

Hello dear FJ fans,

I dug into my pretty FJ stash and created these birthday cards. I have to tell you, cardmaking is usually not my favourite area. I need photos for crafting, they give me ideas, inspiration and meaningfulness. Mind you, cards are great and they always bring a smile to that person you give the card to but I just don't see much purpose in that. I prefer memory keeping with all the details and stories to be treasures. BUT! I did have fun creating these and I have to say that this card making was not so bad at all, and now I have three original cards to give to people! Yay!

I made three cards using mainly the cheerful Katherine kit. As for the titles I used the best birthday stamps ever from the Jenny kit.

As for the first card: what could be a more suitable birthday pattern than stars! I used the stars paper from Katherine and left the brand strip at the bottom. I went for my metal die cuts and cut out two stars. As you can see I used lots of foam stickers. This is actually a pretty good aspect about cardmaking: there are no limits (album thickness) for 3D layering! The last touch: a few epoxy dots in the colours of the stars!

The second card was a bit more complicated. I had this idea about using a Sarah die cut flower and making a window with vellum paper. I went for a neutral mint paper and cut out the shape of the flower using the Sarah metal die cut. Then I adhered a piece of vellum underneath the "window" and using little drops of glue I attached the white die cut flower. I also went for some hand stitching.

The third card is more simple and very quick (I guess I was getting a bit tired, hehe). I went for a few die cut circles and layered them underneath with the best Katherine pattern paper - the colourful stripes. I didn't use any "happy birthday" stamp here but went for a simple "hello you" to make this card more neutral.

I've got a feeling I am going to give the cardmaking another chance soon. It was actually a pretty enjoyable time. Now I can't wait to see how appreciated they get!

Have a lovely upcoming weekend and see you next time with some inspiration from the Amanda kit!
