Hi everyone!
Mandy here with you today to share some more inspiration using the beautiful ‘Brie’ kit. This week on the inspiration page, we are sharing birthday themed projects, so I thought it would be fun to create a set of two birthday cards!
To create the first card, I first adhered a strip of the pink ‘gradient grid’ patterned paper across the bottom half of the card. I also tucked one of the branding strips under the top edge of the pink patterned paper to add a little pop of yellow to the card. Where the pink and the yellow papers joined, I added some of the cute pom pom trim from the Henley kit. I love the texture that this adds to the card! I stamped the word ‘celebrate’ onto the card, using a stamp from the ‘Hooray!’ stamp set. This stamp set is perfect if you enjoy making birthday cards!
Next I got busy fussy cutting some of the beautiful florals out of the Brie floral patterned paper. I adhered them to the card, using craft foam under one of the pieces to the give it some lovely dimension. The other cluster I glued straight to the card, but I only added glue to the centre of it, as I wanted the outside leaves to lift up nicely. I finished the card off with a couple of the layering butterflies from the kit, and a few of the Brooke Bitty Puffy stickers.
For my next card, I decided on using that cute black and white spotty patterned paper as the background, and I matted it on the gradient pink patterned paper to give it a thin border around the edge of the card. I also adhered one of the journaling cards to the centre of the card, and this provided a base for me to add my embellishments and sentiment to.
I fussy cut some more of the florals to embellish this card with, and I also cut out one of the frames from the ‘frames’ patterned paper. I used this to stamp my sentiment onto, once again using a stamp from the ‘Hooray!’ stamp set. I adhered the frame using craft foam for added dimension, and then I finished the card off with a few more of the Brooke Bitty Puffy stickers.
Most of the work in creating these cards was in the fussy cutting (which I enjoy doing)! Once that was done, they really came together very quickly, and I love how they turned out! I plan on giving one to my dear church friend, whose birthday is this Sunday, and the other to my Mum who will celebrating her birthday in just over a week.
Thanks so much for joining me today! I’ll be back next month with some more projects to share with you, using the beautiful Felicity Jane products!
