Blessings Layout with Amber kit | Mandy Melville

Hello everyone!

Mandy here with you today to share a layout that I created using the lovely Amber kit! I decided to scrapbook a beautiful photo of my two girls, Abi and Eleanor, with my niece Eliza. These three girls are all so precious to me, and I knew that the Amber kit would be just perfect for documenting my gratitude for them!

The patterned papers in this kit are just so pretty, and I wanted to make a feature of them on this page by adding lots of paper strips! I trimmed the patterned papers to various lengths and widths, and I also used quite a few of the branding strips. Once I had adhered them to my page, I then used my sewing machine to add some stitching through them, which gave the layout some nice texture. I also added some pom pom trim that I had left over from my Henley kit, as well as a couple of the puffy border stickers from the Amber collection. I really love how this looks!

I matted my photo with the light pink patterned paper from the kit, and then I adhered it using some craft foam to give it some extra dimension. On the bottom right hand corner of the photo I created a little embellishment cluster using some flowers that I fussy cut from the floral patterned paper, as well as a wood veneer piece and a die cut.

The 'blessings' die cut piece made the perfect title for my layout, and I adhered it towards the bottom of the page, along with some more fussy cut florals. This balanced out the photo and the cluster at the top of the layout, and helps to direct the viewer's eye down the page. 

I finished the layout off by adding some strips of typed journaling, as well as a sprinkling of brushed gold sequins.
