Card Set | Mandy Melville
Hi friends!
Mandy here today to share some cards that I made using the stunning 'Rebekah' kit! You may have noticed that this week the creative team are sharing projects focused on using the lovely journaling cards that come in our kits each month. I don't do pocket page scrapbooking, but these cards are so versatile and I love incorporating them onto my 12x12 layouts, traveler's notebook spreads, bible journal entries, and cards. There are lots of different ways that you can use them on your projects!
The first card that I created actually includes four of the Rebekah journaling cards! I started by choosing a few cards, each featuring a different colour and pattern, and I layered them in a way so that you can see a little bit of each one peeking out from behind the one on top. I then chose the floral journal card as the main feature of the card and I adhered that on top using craft foam for added dimension.
Using the Jenny stamp set, I stamped the phrase 'It's your day!' onto the front of the card. To add some more texture and interest, I also tied one of the rubber tiny tags onto the card using string. I think this finishes it off nicely!
For the next card, I covered the front with the pink scallop patterned paper from the Rebekah kit, and I also added a strip of the 6x6 floral paper down the left hand side. Next I decided to layer the journal card with the little twigs on it on top, but first I added some machine stitching around the edge to give it some more texture.
I love looking for different ways that I can use the journal cards on my projects, and often I'll find images on them such as this yellow heart that I can fussy cut! I adhered the heart to the card using craft foam to help it to really stand out! To finish the card off, I stamped the word 'happy' onto white cardstock using the Hip Hip Hooray stamp set and then I cut it out using the coordinating metal die. I then layered the word on top of the heart.
For my final card, I decided on using the super cute bloom patterned paper as the background. I LOVE the pretty colours and the beautiful little flowers on that paper! I used the journal card that says 'hello pumpkin' as the main feature on the card, which I trimmed down to square and matted with two of the solid color papers. I wanted to cover up the word 'pumpkin' on the journal card, and so I stamped the word 'beautiful' onto a small strip of white cardstock using the Rebekah stamp set, and then I cut it into a little banner to adhere over the top of the original word.
I embellished this card with a yellow floral die cut, a mustard miniwide paper clip, and a little white puffy heart from the alphabet sticker pack. As you can see, I once again created lots of dimension on this card by adhering different elements using craft foam.
Thanks so much for joining me here on the blog today! I hope that you've been inspired by the seeing the different ways that I featured the Rebekah journal cards on my cards!
