Hey friends, it’s Kathleen here again. This week’s theme is “Someone Special“ and I thought, instead of creating a layout for it, I would actually make some cards again. I don’t make cards that often and I definitely don’t consider myself a great cardmaker, but every once in a while I get the urge to make some.
My cards are usually a good reflection of my scrapbooking style: lots of white space, paper scraps, textures and paint splatters. And that’s also exactly the recipe I used for today’s set of cards.
I especially like making “just because" cards like this one, for which I used that cute wooden hello speech bubble from the Henley kit together with the crepe ruffle trim, three sheets of the vellum pad and some bitty puffy stickers (they are my absolute favourite thing in the Brooke kit!)
The other two cards are perfect to send to someone who is going through a difficult time, as encouragement and just to let them know that you are thinking of them. Again, I used some wood veneer pieces from the Henley kit together with some parts from the Brooke kit.
For the background on the first card, I used the cute polka dot stamp from the Autumn stamp set and a grey ink pad and just stamped it four times to fill the whole card.
I know these cards are fairly simple and definitely easy to make, but that’s just how I like them. I usually remember last minute that I need a card (or someone, ahem.. husband, asks me last minute if I can make one), so these quick and easy ones are perfect.
And as you can see, you don’t need a lot of product to make cards like this, so they are also great for using up your stash! :) I hope you like them and feel inspired to maybe make some yourself and send them out to someone to make their day a little brighter. :)
