Hey FJ friends! Today I am excited to share this “Celebration” spread in my Felicity Jane binder. I used the Kolly birthday kit to record a few words about myself and my upcoming birthday in September. I am in love with the soft Kolly colors and how this spread came out.
I started this spread with two patterned papers from the Kolly 6x8 Paper Pack. Instead of punching holes in the papers. I used the Acetate Pop-Ins to insert the pages into my binder.
I decided to bring this banner idea to life on the right page. First, I cut triangles from the green patterned paper to use as my banner flags. Next, I added the triangles to my string, then I decided the floral sequins would be a great addition to the banner. I alternated triangles and sequins when threading my banner.
Then, I hovered my title over the banner using the “Celebrate” die cut and balloon letters for my upcoming 37th birthday. Below the banner, I added journaling typed on vellum.
This dreamy, soft, pink patterned paper made a great background for my photo cluster. I layered on patterned papers, washi, and ephemera. The “Happy You Day” phrase came from a journaling card that I cut down. I used floral ephemera that I cut in half to adorn these layers. I completed the spread by adding the floral sequins to both pages.
I hope you enjoyed this birthday spread inspired by Kolly! I like that it’s a non-traditional birthday spread dedicated to myself about getting older. I really hope you are feeling inspired.
