I have had this photo of my husband and I on our 10th wedding anniversary for a few years now and I when I was searching for photos to coordinate with the Caroline kit this photo really spoke to me.
I wanted a soft romantic feel to my layout, but not too girly since it was about my husband too, so I decided to use the pretty floral pattern paper from the Caroline kit as a base for my layout and then trimmed about an inch from two sides of the plain pink pattern paper from the kit to add over the top.
Since it was a celebration I added that large bow using strips from the multicolored pattern paper from the Caroline kit and then scattered some of the silicone charms, die cuts and other embellies around my photo.
To create my bow I trimmed two pieces of the striped pattern paper approx 11/2 inch wide. I trimmed one piece to fit the width of the pink paper and cut notches in each end. The second piece I cut two pieces approx 3 inches long and formed a loop and stapled the loop closed. I then adhered the loops under my photo to create the illusion of a large bow. I love the effect this creates!
Using a large circle punch I punched one of the 3x4 journalling cards into a circle and then ran it through my typewriter. I trimmed a little from the bottom and adhered it to the bottom of my page.
To complete my layout I sewed a small garland string using my machine under my photo and "hung" elements ( including the silicone charms, die cuts and bow) to the string. I love the softness this brings to my layout.
Thanks for joining me today. Don't be afraid to change up some of the elements in your kit to suit the theme of your layout. It really will make all the difference in providing cohesiveness and a sense of coordination!
Enjoy your day!
