Hi FJ friends,
Ulli here with you today. Fridays we always have our favorite products in our focus here on the blog and so I also used my favorite things from the gorgeous Krystal collection. The paper pack is one of my favorite items, but also the little cute houses from the stamp set and from the die cut shapes and wood veneers. When I saw these houses the first time I had to think about a Felicity Jane cut file with the name Christmas Village. So I’ve decided to use this cut file for my scrapbooking page. Here you can see my full layout.
I wanted to make a winter page and searched for the perfect picture. I found one from my daughter at the wonderful historic city center of our home town. In the back there are wonderful houses with square framed work and it was just perfect for my idea. There is always a wonderful Christmas market - of course in no Pandemic times - and this picture on the carousel was made in 2018.
I cut my FJ Essentials White Cardstock to 8.5x11 inches and I decided to use the wonderful Krystal Stripes & Grid paper. The soft pink stripes are so perfect for a girly page. I’ve used the FJ Christmas Village and centered it on my page and placed it on the bottom of my paper. Then I cut it with my electronic cutting machine. After this I cut the paper to 8 1/4 inches and 10 3/4 inches to have a small white frame on my layout later. I glued my picture behind the biggest three houses in the middle and I really love the wonderful window effect. For the other two houses I’ve used the "Spots" and the green "Swiss Dot" paper and glued them behind the house shaped frames in my paper.
Then I cut more houses with the Christmas Village cut file, but a little bit smaller, to decorate the bottom later. I used two different sizes and used the following Krystal papers for it:
- Swiss Dot & Plus
- Gingham & Dotty Diagonal
- Floral & Spots
- Tiny Floral & Hearts
I folded the right edge on the top of my pink striped paper with the photo and used a mini stapler to fix it on my paper. Then I’ve glued it on the white cardstock in 8.5 x 11 inches.
I used the wonderful Krystal Stamp Set and stamped some of the little houses on white cardstock and fussy cut them. Then I moved the little houses (stamped houses and houses made from the patterned papers) on the bottom of my page and glued them with 3 D dots on my layout. I also mixed them with the Krystal Houses Die Cuts and one of the cute Krystal Wood Veneer house in light wood. I clustered them to get a playful look.
After this I searched for a title and found a perfect quote; Children see magic because they look for it.
I wanted to have the word "Magic" as an eye catcher in the middle of the upper part of the layout and clustered more of those wonderful little houses made from the wonderful Krystal papers there. Then I glued the word magic with the pretty black Krystal alphabet stickers on the houses. I also used a striped label in green from the Krystal die cuts there. Then I glued the word "children" with the Amanda Puffy Alphabet and the word "see" with the white Jill Alphabet on the top. The other words of the quote I wrote by hand under the houses - a little bit right centered. Then I stamped with the FJ date roller stamp the month and the year when the picture was taken under my title.
At the end I splattered black ink across the title and used the cute Megan Die Cut Shapes with the hearts, the Tori Epoxy Dots and the Amanda Puffy Shapes in pink to decorate the part of my layout with the big title. I also added some of the cute Krystal die cut snowflakes and three of the Krystal Wood Veneer hearts on my page.
I hope you like my layout with the focus on the wonderful Krystal papers and I could inspire you. Have a wonderful weekend!
xx, Ulli
