Christmas Cards with Holly Kit | Mandy Melville

Christmas Cards with Holly Kit | Mandy Melville

Hi FJ friends!

Mandy here with you today to share some quick Christmas cards that I made using the gorgeous Holly collection. I think that there's something really special about giving family and friends a hand-made card at Christmas time. It's something that my Mum has always done, and it's a tradition that I want to continue. This year I even included my kids, and we all made Christmas cards together while we watched a Christmas movie. It was a really fun and memorable time with them!

I love the combination of the deep red and the grey in the Holly collection! Here's a look at three of the cards that I made...

For my first card, I kept it quite simple by using one of the Holly journaling cards as the main feature on the card. It had the perfect sentiment, and I love the cute holly pattern across the bottom. I matted the journaling card with black cardstock and adhered it with foam tape to give it some extra dimension.

Down the right hand side of the card I added the scallop branding strip off one of the solid color papers. You can never go wrong with scallops, right?! To finish the card off, I added one of the grey felt stars. I love the texture that it adds!

For my next card, I wanted to feature that beautiful gingham patterned paper. I added a strip of it across the middle of the card over the top of the light green solid color paper. I then fussy cut the beautiful red bow out of one of the journaling cards and adhered it to the card with foam tape.

I added a strip of pom pom trim across the top of the card, and I absolutely love how cute it looks! To finish the card off, I stamped the phrase 'falalalala' in the bottom right hand corner.

For my final card, I wanted to make use of the beautiful Holly stamp set! This card was designed purely using these stamps...

First I stamped the phrase 'The most wonderful time of the year' across the bottom of the card using black ink. I then stamped the word 'Christmas' above this using green ink. I love how these two stamps look together with the combination of the scripty font and the text!

Next I stamped the cute Christmas tree onto white cardstock using grey ink, and I stamped a black star on top. I then fussy cut the tree and adhered it to the card using foam tape. I think this gives it a little something extra, rather than just stamping it straight onto the card!

I love how all of these cards turned out, and best of all, they were quick and easy to make, which is always a plus at this busy time of the year!

Thanks so much for joining me here today. I hope that you enjoyed taking a look at my cards, and maybe you've been inspired to make some for your family and friends as well?
