I don't know about anyone else, but baking during the holidays is one of my most favorite activities! And I've got a gem of a girl who loves making a mess of the kitchen with her mama, too. That being said, I just had to document these cute little gingerbread men in my album!
One of the things I love to do in my December Albums (or ANY of my books, really!) is work outside of the plastic page protectors and create mini "smash book" style layouts. For this one, I cut down paper from the "Hello, Christmas!" kit to make the base of the page, and then I sewed a photo on top of it to make a pocket.
From there I just stuffed it with a 3x4 photo, a journaling card, and the adorable recipe card that came on the cut apart sheet in the kit.
Then I added on some of the extra bits and pieces from the kit + some things I had in my own stash. Quick, easy, and cute! And if you're working day to day on your album like I am, it's gotta be quick & easy! (Well, and cute. Obviously.)
That's it!
If you print your photos at home, try printing one on vellum like I did with the gingerbread men! I really enjoy the subtle transparency look of it, and I think you will, too.
Hope you all have a wonderful holiday!! Happy crafting & happy memory-making! XOXO, Marybeth
