Hi FJ Friends!
For today’s Friday Favourites post I’m focusing on the gorgeous Coco Stamp Set. I love it! It has so many fun, festive sayings and images to choose from so I though I’d get to work creating some cards in preparation for my December documenting.
I like to have a variety of journaling and filler cards ready to go before December starts so that all I have to do is add some text and put them to my pocket pages.
I created four 3 x 4 inch cards that have plenty of room for journaling. I used some papers from the Coco Kit to create two of the cards with borders…one with little trees and the other with red lattice. I added a piece of white cardstock to the centre of each measuring 2.5 x 3.5 inches then added a stamped sentiment to the top of each before finishing off with some stitching for texture.
I used a card from the Coco journaling card pack that already had it’s own diagonal striped border. I added some stitching, stamped “memories” onto some white cardstock, cut it out and adhered it to the top of the card before finishing off with some more stitching.
For the fourth card I added a strip of the plaid paper across the bottom, stitched across it then stamped the tiny tree at the top.
This next card is a filler card that I made using gingham paper for the border and white cardstock in the centre. I then used the three tree stamps from the stamp set with black ink in the centre. To finish off I used gold embossing powder to create a shiny gold star on top of the tallest tree.
I also made another filler card using one of the Coco journaling cards as the base. I added stitching to the card then grabbed some scrap white cardstock to stamp on. I absolutely love the little house stamp in the Coco Stamp Set! I stamped the house and two of the trees in black. Next I used the tiny snow stamp and gold embossing powder to add some shiny “snow” above the house. I also gold embossed some little stars on top of the trees. I punched the finished piece out with a 2 inch circle punch and added it to the card. I also gold embossed the “Christmas” word, cut it out and added it across the bottom of the circle. I love how this card turned out!
Finally, I decided to create a 3 x 8 inch tag that I plan on adding to one of the 3 x 8 inch page protectors in my album. I cut the white cardstock into a tag shape, added plaid paper to the bottom and a reinforcer piece to the top of the tag before stitching around the edge. I hand stitched around one of the cardstock circles from the Noel Kit, added it to the plaid paper section of the tag, then adhered the number 3 and a gold foil star on top. (I plan on using this tag for day 3 in my December album.) To finish off I added the “merry & bright” phrase from the stamp set and some trims from the Coco kit to the top of the tag.
I love that I now have these cards ready to go once I start documenting December!
These were so easy to put together using the Coco Stamp Set. I hope I’ve inspired you to make your own journaling cards too!
Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today and have a beautiful weekend!
