Hi friends -

One thing I love about Christmas is the cold air. I am not a summer person - shocker!
I don't like heat and the wet air but I love fall and winter air.
It's so crisp and fresh and cold - to be honest, I prefer having sunshine in the winter with it being still freezing rather than it being super hot and sweaty on the beach with sand everywhere.

Because I love the cold so much - plus you can always wear another sweater - I needed to dedicate this layout to it.
I was searching through my cut files from Felicity Jane and the "Baby it's cold outside" Design from the Silhouette store caught my eye.
The way the different fonts look together is just beautiful and so I used it.

I simply cut it out of some white cardstock for one of my favorite techniques - backing a die- cut with patterned paper.
For a dimensional look I used lots of tiny foam squares and adhered my patterned paper behind the letters and words - I tried to use as minimal as possible, because I want to use every single paper bit for my December album this year, which I will post on Instagram
in the next couple of days.

The cut file originally comes with a snowflake right underneath the last word and actually my plan was to keep it that and also back it with paper.
After I did so and placed my pictures next to the snowflake I was liking it but wasn't loving it.
Then I just decided to cover up the snowflake by adhering a doily right on top and placing my two pictures above that.

Because my title already stood out so much, I wanted to keep my embellishing light and not to heavy.
The punched circles from the Hello Christmas kit add the perfect finishing touch for a airy and light feel without overpowering your work.

I adhered them but you could see where I placed my glue, so I chose some circular designs from the kit - like rubber charms, a sticker from the cut apart sheet and
acrylic pieces to place over my glue.

My second to last step was to adhere a few of those darling sequins in silver to match with the circles and the cold, wintery feel my pictures give.
I scattered a few horizontally at the bottom of my page and then adhered them down.

After I was done, I showed the page to my mom - she is a great help ;) - and asked for a tip on what to add because the page was missing something.
I took out my sewing machine changed my thread to a dark red and simply sew around the edge of my page to create a border.
This helps the eyes not to wander off of the page and always come back to the pictures!

I hope you enjoyed todays post -
I will make sure to post my December album using the Hello Christmas kit on my Instagram soon and maybe film a walk- through at the end of the month ;)

Have a great day,
xx Laureen
