Hello everyone!
I hope 2020 is treating you well so far! I’m excited to share my first FJ project for the year with you today…a traveler’s notebook spread featuring the delightful Madison Kit! The colours and patterns in this kit are just so beautiful. What a perfect way to start the year!
I was so happy to see the woodgrain paper included in the kit this month and I knew it would be the perfect colour to go with the photo of one of our guinea pigs looking super comfy having a snuggle with Madi.
To create the background of my spread, I added a piece of woodgrain to the bottom of each page, added a strip of the tiny hearts paper (which is on the reverse side) tucked under the top edge, then added some machine stitching.
On the first page I positioned the photo roughly in the centre, then embellished with some die cut flowers, a tab with a word sticker, an embossed tag and the “comfy” word with puffy alphabet stickers for the title.
I wanted the journaling to be on the second page of the spread. I printed it out using my computer and cut it into a little tag shape, adding the reinforcer piece at the top with the Shay Tag Builder Metal Die Set. I also stitched around the tag to add some texture. For something a little different, I decided to tuck it into one of the super cute mini envelopes. I secured the journaling tag with some double sided tape so that the tag stays in place while ensuring all the text can be seen at once.
To decorate the envelope I used the circular ‘story’ piece with a floral die cut layered on top with a foam dot. I stamped the date using my favourite FJ Roller Date Stamp onto a Noel Tiny Tag, then attached it to the page by wrapping the twine loop around the floral foam dot.
