Hello everyone,
I hope you are all having fun with Hope :) and creating some gorgeous projects full of your precious memories. And I also hope you are all safe and healthy!
Before we get excited about the new kit (yaaay, coming soon!) I have a little cute mini album to share with you! As soon as I saw those pretty mini file folders I had this idea to use them for a mini album.
I was going to make one for my mum for the Mother's Day full of photos of her grandchildren. I didn't have much time so I had to make it really simple.
As for the album I used the file folders, one for each grandkid, and a few more inserts cut from the pretty papers in the collection. I also went for vellum and decorated it with a scalloped edge and a traced pattern.
Every file folder has a great tab which is perfect for adding the child's name.
In the end I didn't have that many photos so I could enjoy adding some embellishments.
Or cut out a little circle window.
As for the coptic binding, this is my first one and I really loved the process! I went for a You Tube tutorial (there are loads!) and put the album together using white embroidery thread. The cover of the mini album is slightly wider than the folders to cover the tabs.
To hold everything in place I used a rubber band which I decorated with a few buttons. Such a simple detail but makes it all quite special.
Have you ever tried coptic binding? I loved this little project and I will definitely make something similar again!
