Creativation Mini | Ulrike Dold
Hi FJ friends,
Ulli here with you and I have a mini book inspiration for you with the gorgeous new Felicity Jane Madison collection. This new collection is perfect to start into the new year. It has a fresh color palette and the florals are so beautiful. I made an easy mini book with two little book rings in soft pink and with a elastic band as closure. This year I will be the first time at the Creativation in Phoenix and I’m so excited! I made this mini book to fill it later with all the wonderful memories from this crafty adventure and my trip to USA.
I cut two chipboard pieces to 3.5 x 4.5 inch and two pieces from the super adorable Madison Bitty Floral & Window Patterned Paper with 4.5 x 5.5 inch to cover it . The inside of the mini I covered with the cute Tiny Hearts paper. I punched two holes into the front and the back cover and used book rings in light pink with 1.25 Inch to hold it together. For the closure I punched one hole in the lower third of the back cover and fixed an elastic band there to close this mini. I used the wonderful floral Madison Journaling Card for my cover and added my title with the amazing little Puffy Alphabet in black. This alphabet is very small and so perfect to add longer words on your projects too. I added a little banner from the cute Madison Die Cuts together with one of those adorable embossed tags and a Denise Charm with suede on one book ring. Then I made three little paper beads from Madison paper scraps and fixed them together with a black Joy tassel on a thin ribbon in soft pink. I also added this self made charm on the book ring too.
I filled the mini with 10 pages and used patterned paper from the Madison collection and the wonderful Essentials White Cardstock. So let us take a look inside.
For the first page I punched a cute tag with the amazing Shay Tag Builder Die and decorated it with Die Cut Shapes, I typed my journaling and printed it out. Then I filled the packaging from the Madison envelopes with sequins and self made paper heart confetti, closed it with my sewing machine and fixed it over my journaling with a mini stapler. I also used a FJ wooden heart and backed it with the cute floral paper from the Madison collection. I added a black tab from the Madison Die Cut Shapes there and backed it with another one in pink from the other side of this page. For the next pages I used the "Beautiful" journaling card and the orange mini envelope to place some cute eye catchers. I closed the envelope with a white Kate Epoxy Heart and so I can add more journaling later in this pocket.
For the next double page I´ve made a cute little bow from the Little Leaves paper and used the three-part pink journaling card and the amazing Madison stamp set. I wanted to keep the mini simple to have enough space to fill it later.
The next double page is made with the Spots & Diagonal paper and I also added a pocket page from FJ essentials white card stock there. I love the journaling card with the circular chart. There I probably will add by handwriting the words "fun", "work", "discover", "meet new crafty friends" with arrows later. In the pocket I added the cute little floral tags from the Madison Die Cut Shapes and I used a stamp and a flair button with a heart from a previous FJ collection to decorate this pocket.
I also used one of these super cute Madison Vellum Pocket Fronts in my mini album and cut it a little bit smaller. I added there the love Journaling card to add pictures or more journaling later. I punched a big one for the month of January from a paper scrap and added one of these super pretty flowers from the Madison Die Cut Shapes on the top of the vellum pocket.
The next double page is easy. I used my favorite papers from the Madison collection, the floral one and the Tiny Heart paper, and I also added a backed wooden veneer there.
The last pages are very simple and I show you not all pages here. I played with the patterns from the Madison collection, some labels and die cuts, and I also embossed one white piece of cardstock with a bow pattern, a label and the bow from the Madison Die Cuts.
For the closure I left the elastic band a little bit longer. When I will fill this mini with pictures and more journaling it will be thicker and so I will be able to widen the band a little bit then.
I hope you like my little mini book and maybe I could inspire you to use the wonderful Madison collection for a mini book too. I cannot wait what you will create with the newest Felicity Jane collection. I love to see all your fantastic art work on the Felicity Jane Facebook groups and on Instagram. Thank you for stopping by today!
xx, Ulli
