Cross Stitching and Pocket Pages | Ashley Bright

Cross Stitching and Pocket Pages | Ashley Bright

Hi All! Today I am sharing my first project made using the new Aspen collection. It has been an interesting time here as there was some damage to the building I live in and so I am now living in a temporary spot. In the meantime, I do have some craft supplies and I wanted to create some decorative pages for a journal. The Aspen collection has been a perfect fit for my theme.

I started with some cross stitching on some plain white cardstock. This was inspired by patterns from last month’s Mabel collection and the colors from the Aspen collection. This adds such great texture to the page.

I adhered the finished stitching onto one of the deep blue patterned papers. I then did some fussy cutting and created a couple of little clusters using florals, die cut shapes, and cardstock heart stickers.

I pulled in some of the same elements onto my second page and also added some journaling cards.

If you want to add some cross stitching texture to your pages without making a pattern, you can also use the dots on the journaling cards for a grid, as I did below. A simple outline adds a nice little touch as well.

I hope you liked seeing some details from this project and are inspired to create something with the new Aspen collection! Happy Crafting!
