Cute Stuff Layout | Leigh Ann Odynski

Cute Stuff Layout | Leigh Ann Odynski

For this "Cute Stuff Layout", I had the idea to create hanging fringed hexagons with the scrumptious Autumn colors in the Heidi Kit. I used a hexagon die, but you could trace around a printed shape or use a punch as well.

I stitched down the page to a predetermined spot so that the hexagons appear to be hanging from the top of the layout. I found it worked best to trim the hexagons first from the selected papers, then trim the staggered length, and then use fringe scissors on each layer separately.

I scattered the smaller hexagons from the Heidi Die Cut Shapes pack around the larger ones in the top two thirds of the page.

Above, you can see the other bits from the die cut pack were used to add interest and create layers behind the hexagons. The floral die cut pieces add an organic element to the graphic shape of the hexagon to soften it. The Zoey Kit Stamp from last month adds a little of the black color to each grouping and some more journaling with cute sentiments.

The two photos are of some cute stuff in my craft room, and are printed at 2.25 inches. Some of the die cut shapes and some wood veneer hexagons are used there as well.

Thank you for stopping by today,

Leigh

This layout really is cute stuff!! Love the idea of the fringed hexagons! I’ve seen fringed hearts and butterflies but never with this shape and it’s so cute!
