'Daughter' TN Layout with the Denise Kit | Mandy MelvilleJun 27, 2019
Mandy here today to share a traveler's notebook layout that I created using the beautiful Denise kit. With its gorgeous florals and pretty colours, I knew that this collection would be perfect for creating some layouts about girls. Plus the stamp set has some great words and phrases to use on projects focused on sisters/daughters/girlfriends! I decided to document a beautiful photo of my eldest daughter Abigail, taken on Mother's Day last month. She's growing up so quickly, but I'm so proud of the young lady that she's becoming, and I wanted this page to show how amazing I think she is!
I started by covering the left hand side of the spread with one of the neutral patterned papers from the kit. I wanted to add some subtle interest to the page, without it being too overpowering, and I think the diamonds patterned paper was perfect for that. Of course I couldn't resist fussy cutting a couple of the gorgeous flowers out of the floral patterned paper! Felicity Jane florals and fussy cutting make me so happy! After I adhered one of the florals on the left hand side of the spread, I added some of the little word die cuts from the kit to the page. These words perfectly describe my beautiful girl! To finish off the left hand side, I stamped the word daughter onto a label, and tucked it under the edge of the flower.
I added my photo to the right hand side of the spread, and adhered another flower overlapping the photo. There was some white space in the top right hand corner of the photo which meant that the flower wasn't covering up anything important in the photo. I love the way it looks tucked under the florals! I also added a little butterfly puffy sticker to the page to add some more detail and interest. How cute is it?!
I created a little cluster of embellishment on the bottom right hand corner of the photo. I started by tucking a die cut tag and label under the edge of the photo, and then I added another little puffy sticker on top. I finished the layout off by stamping the date using my FJ roller date stamp.
Thanks so much for joining me here today! I hope that you've been enjoying creating with the lovely Denise collection as much as I have this month!
