It's lovely to be back here on the blog sharing another project with you using the gorgeous Maggie kit! Today's theme is 'Inspired By...'! There are endless things that inspire our creativity, wouldn't you agree? But one thing that I really love about the scrapbooking community, is that we all inspire one another! My layout today was inspired by a technique that a fellow scrapbooker, Missy Whidden used, where she took a photo of an image on a project life card and turned it into a cut file! I loved the phrase on the card in the Maggie kit that says 'days like this', and I thought that it would be fun to create a cut file using this phrase so that I could enlarge it and use it as my title! To do this, I simply took a photo of the project life card, imported the jpeg image into my Silhouette Studio, and then traced it! It was really easy! I cut it out of white cardstock, and then backed it with the painted stripes patterned paper from the Maggie kit!
Once I had done my title, I was ready to add my photo and embellishments. I scrapped a photo of my husband and I taken recently when we went out for breakfast to celebrate our anniversary. I added some pretty layers behind my photo using patterned papers from the Maggie kit, as well as the packaging from the Silicone Charms, and one of the super pretty mini doilies from the kit.
I adore the florals on the sticker sheet in this kit! I used them to embellish around my photo, and I think they look so pretty! I also tucked a label underneath the right hand hand side of my photo, and I added that gorgeous stripe flair button on top of the flower.
Up in the top right hand corner of my layout, I created a little cluster that includes a few of my favourite things from the kit... the flowers, the silicone charms and the stamps! The silicone charms and the stamp set from the Maggie kit are both still available to purchase from the Felicity Jane shop!
Have a great week everyone!
