Dear London | Banning Lane

Happy Monday friends!

Over the weekend I got my Caroline kit in the mail and man was I excited. The first layout you make with a new kit is always the best one right!!

Here is a look at my page:

So here is the deal, this may be my favorite layout I have done in a long, long time. The reason why is I didn't over think it. Of course I went back and forth about a few decisions, but as soon as an idea came into my head I just went with it.

The two decisions I had already made when heading into this layout was what picture I was going to use, and what size of layout I was going to make. All the other decisions were made on the fly. At one point I thought I was going to do some simple layers being my photo and type my journaling below it. As I played around with all my goodies, I couldn't pass up the temptation to use all the beautiful patterned papers. For this layout I literally just started cutting different sized squares and rectangles out of my most favorite papers from the kit and pieced them together below my photo.

After I pieced all my papers together, the only choice I had left was to add embellishments or not. At first I thought about adding a bunch of embellishments to all those squares, but I settled on adding a few of the puffy stickers to four of the squares. I went for tone on tone looks, and man do I love the way it turned out.

After I got done with the "fun" part of my layout, I still had my story to tell.

I love the way my daughter looks in this picture, and I love the feeling I get when I look at it. The best way I could express that was to just tell her, and that is exactly what I did on a tag that I tucked in behind my photo.

To add just a little more detail to this page, I used my sewing machine to add some stitching, and picked a piece of patterned paper to add a border.

Thank you so much for stopping by. Hope you all have a great week.
