Hi everyone! Can you believe it will be December 1st tomorrow?! I love this time of year and love the magic of the season. December also means it's time to create one of my favorite projects of the year...a December album that celebrates all of the big and small moments of the holiday season.
I absolutely LOVE this year's Felicity Jane Hello Christmas kit and was so excited to receive my box this month. I immediately pulled out some products to create a few "foundation" pages to start my December album. I'm sharing three of these pages with you today.
The first is the opening page for my album. As soon as I saw those chipboard number circles, I knew I wanted to try and create a tree with them. They're the first thing I pulled out of the box when it arrived and immediately created this page. The red silicone circle with a star in it was the perfect tree topper and that cute little black and white gingham bow was fun to include as part of the base of the tree. I'm in love with the red and black buffalo plaid paper this season and thought it would be a great background for my opening page and it complemented the tree really well. The December label from the cut apart sheet and the red number stickers worked really well together to designate the title of my album. Here's a close up shot:
The second page I created is what I'm calling my "intentions" page. It outlines what I'm hoping for this season and the "All I Want for Christmas..." 6x8 patterned paper from the cut apart sheet serves as a great base. I typed out my wishes for December and then created an embellishment cluster on the bottom right using a tag, flair button, word label sticker and a bit of that fun green fiber. I also added that sweet green bow clip at the top left to balance out the cluster on the bottom right. I love all of the texture these items add to this simple page.
Finally, I created a fun transparent pocket page to showcase many of the awesome embellishments provided in the kit. It's fun to combine different textures like wood, fabric, metal, paper, plastic and silicone in the various pockets and I love the effect they created. I'm not sure where this page will go in my album but I love that it's all ready to go and can be inserted wherever it seems to fit appropriately. This page was so much fun to create and I'll probably create another similar page later in the month.
I loved making all three of these pages and I'm happy to have a good start on this album. I'll be back here on the blog in a few weeks to share more pages from my album and hope you'll come back to check them out. Happy December and happy holidays!
