December Album | Wish List Tags | Lindsey Lanning

Hello everyone, it’s Lindsey! If you are working on an album for December, how are you doing? If you are anything like me then you might be in need of some filler pages since I’m not taking near as many photos as I usually do. One of my favorite elements to add to one of these albums are some tags to document my sons and some of the things that might be on their wish list and things they are thankful for.

One of the many reasons that I love Felicity Jane products is that a lot of them give you a base to work with but leave plenty of room for embellishment and customization. The cardstock dividers are a staple for me in my December albums for this reason. I can use them as is or add papers, stamping, ephemera, paint, etc. I grabbed one of the pockets, that beautiful floral paper from the Coco Collection and then created some tags with the solid cardstocks to stick into the pocket when it’s finished.

I had a lot of different prints going on and, even though they were black and white, I wanted to make sure that I didn’t get too crazy with the embellishment of the pocket front. I grabbed some of the ribbon trims to add texture and then added one of the gold stars with a few of the little tassels (the red one came with the Coco Trims and the others were from the Joy Collection). I created a title of sorts with the Noel Gold Foil Puffy Title Stickers. I can’t ever have enough pops of gold during the holidays!

I’ll add the white tags to the back of the colored tags to give my sons a place to write. Some gold stitching helps bring some texture to these otherwise simple tags. I have my boys write out their names and age (it’s always fun to see how their handwriting changes over the years) and also give them a spot to document what they are thankful for as well as some things that they are hoping to receive this year (this is also a sneaky way to figure out what to get your teenagers LOL).

I like to number each day of my album so I used another piece from the cardstock dividers that had these fun gold stars. I created a fan out of the same colored cardstocks I used for the tags and will attach a number to the top of the fan. I used some dies from my stash but you could also hand create a fan by accordion folding a strip of cardstock and you could even use decorative scissors or small punches to add details to the outer edge.

Here you can see how the two cardstock dividers will look together. Keeping the color palette the same between the two pieces helps tie them together in my album.

On the back of my number divider, I typed out some journaling about my boys. At the top I layered one of the Coco labels over the red swiss dot washi and stamped a couple sentiments from the Coco stamp set. I added a couple of the gold chipboard stars to fill in the blank area after my journaling and this also reinforces the theme between the two cardstock dividers.

I love how simple these two pieces were to put together and they create a fun way to document a day where I didn’t have any photos. How do you like to fill up days where you don’t have any photos in your December album?
