December Day 9 - FJ Cardstock Divider Pocket Pages

Happy New Year FJ Friends!

Now that all the festive celebrations have been and gone I’m working on getting all of those lovely memories into my December album.  How about you?  Today I’m sharing my Day 9 spread using one of the awesome cardstock divider pocket pages from the Holly Kit.  I love these!

I printed a 6 x 4 inch photo of each of the calendars then backed them with Holly Kit patterned papers and a little journaling about each one.  Stitching was added to the journaling and outside edge of the paper before adhering to the back of each photo.  I used glitter foam alphas to add the first initial of each person to the front of each photo, then punched a hole and added ribbon to the top of each one to create tags.

Next I decorated the cardstock divider pocket page. I lined the top half of the page with some spotty paper, stitched around the edge and re-punched the three holes along the left side.

For the front of the pocket I added some scalloped washi to the top edge then decided to create a little banner using die cuts, an acrylic house, gold foil number, a button, a star paper clip and a punched star.  I punched small holes into the cardstock pieces and threaded everything onto the twine.  The little acrylic house was just adhered into place using glue dots since I couldn’t punch a hole into the top of it but it still looks like part of the banner.  The twine was attached to the front of the pocket using some old star brads from my stash.  I pierced a hole straight through the cardstock divider on the outside edge of the pocket before pushing the brad through and securing at the back of the divider.

The pocket page was now done but I also had to cover the back of a journaling tag from the previous day in my album.  The tag is approximately 7 x 4.5 inches.  I cut some buffalo plaid paper to match the size of the existing tag, added a journaling card and some stitching then adhered it to the back.  To finish it off I punched the 6 holes down the side to allow it to go back into the album, punched a hole at the top and added some gold ribbon, then adhered a punched glitter star to the bottom of the journaling card.

I hope I’ve been able to give you some ideas to use in your December album!  The banner is a fun way to use some of your favourite pieces from your stash and so easy to do!
