Hey there FJ pals! I’m so excited to be sharing a project using the Joy kit! It’s probably no surprise that I love December. The holidays are so warm and cozy feeling, and I just love the uplifting feeling of the projects people share.
While I am keeping a December album, I wanted to share a traveler’s notebook layout with you today. Along with my December album, I do traditional scrapbook pages and TN layouts throughout the month. The Joy kit has been perfect for these projects!
I’m a huge fan of FJ vellum. I previously shared this TN layout on the blog, and when I saw the Joy vellum, I knew I wanted to do something similar! Since my photo isn’t Christmas-specific, I decided to use the light greens, blacks, and pinks in this project.
I kept it pretty simple, since the vellum and small embellishments added so much detail to the layout. Just a little bit of paper layering on both sides of the page, along with clusters of embellishments that matched the color scheme I chose.
Since the photo I was documenting was of the colorful leaves of the trees, I used most of the tree elements from the Joy collection. It went along with the theme so well, even though I wasn’t documenting a pine or Christmas tree specifically.
The stamps were the perfect finishing touches for this project. I used one of the phrases as my journaling - it encompassed everything I wanted to say about the layout and I love the way it looks against that wood grain paper!
One of my favorite things about the items that come in the monthly FJ kits is how much I am challenged to think outside of my normal box of creativity. I love creating layouts that are interactive and have interest. This was the perfect kit to do just that!
