Hello everyone, it’s Lindsey! As you are seeing this project, I’m off camping with my boys and unplugging for a few days but I tried to get a head start on my 100 day devotional journal project. A project like this is a great way to use up some of your stash and the Felicity Jane products are a perfect size for a journal like this.
Check out my process video at the end of the post to see how this page came together!
For today’s devotional entry we are reflecting on the importance of speaking with grace instead of grumbling. This is something that I really have to work hard at so I decided to create a journaling pocket where I could add quite a bit of prayer journaling that would be a little hidden.
For the pocket, I used a piece of Denise patterned paper that was adhered down on the top, bottom, and left side. I cut down one of the Sarah | Journaling Cards into a tag shape where I could type out my journaling and slide it into the pocket.
I’m completely obsessed with the Denise | Chipboard Speech Bubbles! There are so many different ways you can use these and dress them up but I chose to use a combination of alpha stickers to spell out one of the key ideas from this devotional…”Grace be with you.”
I don’t plan on adding a tab to every page of this journal but I do like to add them here and there. I layered some die cuts, puffy alpha stickers, and washi tape onto this buffalo plaid tab from the Lindsey | Die Cut Shapes.
To dress up the journaling pocket, I grabbed a variety of Felicity Jane die cuts that were matched the color scheme I was going for. I struggle to use the girl die cuts in my memory documenting so I try and use as many as I can in a project like this and I love how Lola pairs well with the speech bubble.
I wanted to bring in some more of the blue from the background so I stamped out one of the Jill Stamps that says “focus on the good” in a blue ink and created a custom die cut piece to add to my pocket.
I brought in some more blue by stamping the wonky scallop from the Jaimee | Stamp Set and layering a marigold label over the top. A few more puffy stickers help to draw your eye down to the prayer for today’s devotional entry.
To finish up the page, I ran the journaling card through my typewriter (it needs to be adjusted so I can only type in uppercase for now lol) and typed out a personalized prayer as a reflection on what I studied for this devotional.
I love how quick and easy it was to put together a page in this journal using my Felicity Jane stash! Be sure to watch the process video below to see how it all came together.
Head on over to the Felicity Jane shop and stock up on some goodies to use on your next journaling project!
Until next time!
<3 Lindsey

Love the pocket – great idea for jotting down a personal prayer or goals on how you might work on ‘not’ grumbling. Love this page, great job!
